I’m Jude, the founder of Palm & Sage Studio and the designer behind Island & Sage. Tropical homes and the life that unfolds around them have fascinated me for as long as I can remember—the warmth, the light, the lush greenery and the way a home opens to its surroundings. I feel lucky to have lived a tropical lifestyle for the past 15 years. That lifelong love, alongside the everyday experience of living in this climate, is what connects my designs, the Studio and Palm & Sage Guides.

Our Palm & Sage Guides website covers everyday questions about tropical and coastal homes: damp towels, humidity, ventilation and choosing useful fittings. It has its own website so you can go straight to practical help when you need it.

Where it began
When I go back to the very heart of Palm & Sage Studio, I find myself returning to my childhood.
I grew up in a cold climate, surrounded by long winter days, always longing for the sun. I missed its warmth before I had even experienced what it meant to live somewhere tropical. Whenever the sun appeared, I wanted to soak up every moment of it.
Even as a child, I dreamed of one day moving to a warm country—and eventually, I did.
Living in the tropics has shaped the way I see colour, light and materials. It has also taught me that a home needs to respond to its climate. Those two sides of tropical living—its beauty and its everyday realities—give me plenty to explore through my work.
The tropical life that inspires me
My dream has always been a home that feels connected to the tropics: sunlight moving through open windows, natural textures, lush greenery and rooms that flow into the outdoors. That is the world I’m building through Palm & Sage—a place where my designs and my love of tropical living come together.
I love mixing old and new, refining colours and finding the small details that make a space feel right. My designs draw on tropical living, ocean life, nostalgic shapes and sun-washed shades of sage, coral, warm ivory and ochre.
The aim is to help you create a home with its own identity—one that reflects your taste and works for everyday life.
